Mother Mary Aloysia A.C. the pioneer of A.C. Education once said "Education is incomplete without the formation of Character". Shakespeare once said: I cried when I had no shoes, but I stopped crying when I saw a man without legs. Life is full of blessings, sometimes we don't value it. Yes it's true that intelligence combined with character is the goal of true education and that's why it is said that "Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all".

Venerable Mother Veronica of the passion the Founder of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation (1823 -1906) told her sisters "Always to be respectful to one another, be very humble and charitable, be always little and remain very small for there is always place for little ones".

Inspired by the life and example of Mother Veronica the Carmelite sisters reach out to the people, particularly the youth through education and faith formation in schools, colleges, welfare centers etc. by employing formal and non-formal techniques.

The Apostolic Carmel Congregation that pioneered women's education along the West Coast has its origin in Bayonne, France, founded by Mother Veronica of the Passion in 1868. However it grew in India as an Indian Congregation after its establishment in India on 19th November 1870. Over the past one hundred and fifty three years of its existence the institute has expanded with a large number of educational institutions in India, Sri Lanka, Middle East and East Africa.

St. Agnes School, Bendore Mangaluru started by the Apostolic Carmel Sisters in 1965 is a Minority Institution as per the Constitution of India, Article 30 (1). The main thrust was the development of women as persons imbued with deep faith in God and in them by providing sound education.

St. Agnes the patron saint of St. Agnes CBSE School is a model of all that is pure and beautiful and is an inspiration to all the young girls. A wealthy Roman maiden she chose to be faithful to God in spite of all that the world offered her to give up her purity and personal integrity. The school has adopted her motto "GOD IS MY STRENGTH" so that every student may be inspired to choose the hard right against the easy wrong in times of conflict and temptation to yield to the allurements of this world.
